What does submission software do? Well it will help you submit your website to various search engines around the internet. There are so many different ones out there but I will say not a single thing they offer is anything you could not do yourself for free or less money than what they offer the services for.

The only thing they really do is add a lot of convenience to submitting you site and a lot of features that will make the process quicker instead of going to each search engine individually and submit your site manually.

However, while the features are things you can do for free or less than what the software costs, you do need to have a certain level of education in various technologies in order to be able to do them yourself. Not everyone knows what good meta tags are or where to even put them on a website.

So therefore, the time saved by having all the tools in an easy to reach place that even helps you with questions you may have on what to do with what, these tools can really help most people with their sites. Especially if they have multiple sites as that will be a lot of time saved on submissions.

There are a lot of different submission software out there. Some are even just websites that have this stuff, not just down loadable software. Every one has different features and different prices for the services that they offer. You need to do your research and see what features you really want to pay for and what ones just do not matter.

I have seen more features than I can ever remember. Some of those include meta tag generators, key word density analyzers, doorway page generators, web site ranking utilities, report generators, engine database updaters, automated schedulers, multi-threaded submissions, FTP uploaders, and even guarantees on rankings or traffic to your site.

Some of the features that I list may sound over your head. Some of the features you will not see commonly. But others, such as meta tag generators are so common, you would have more trouble finding one that did not offer you the meta tag generator tool.

Some tools you will find that you never use. And in reality, I find that more than 50 percent of the tools available on whatever site submission software I am using, and I have tried many, I do not use them. Some just seem to be overkill. But I would wager that those tools do not hurt the site. Just feels to me personally that the time needed to do some of the stuff is not going to help enough to be worth it.

Maybe if I had only one site to manage I could do everything to it. But with over 25 sites managed myself, there is not much time to do the small things unfortunately. But like I said, it should not hurt your rankings.

Something to consider with guarantees however, is that they are not what they seem to be usually. Some places promise things like first page rank on search engines. But you need to check some things about what the software promises especially when optimizing articles for the serps.. What specific search engine are they promising? And how long will it be there? I have seen some places say search engines that I have never heard of. Or if it is a bigger search engine that is promised. I have seen that it will only promise it for 10 or 15 minutes, not anywhere near a day even.

But not to say that these tools do not help. You see, over time and with hard work and dedication, you can get the rankings you want. Just realize that this is a hard contest for page ranking. And if you consider that 10 people want the same first page ranking, well, that means no matter what, number 11 comes along and now someone has to be on the second page.
